Periodic inspection of solar panel installation
Fires caused by solar panels are becoming increasingly common. This is not only because the number of solar panel installations is increasing, but the fire risk is mainly due to incorrect installation of these PV installations. TNO found that solar panel installations mainly catch fire due to poor connections of plugs. Something that can be revealed with a solar panel inspection.

What is a solar panel inspection?
During a solar panel inspection, we will check whether your PV system has been properly installed. But even if your installation has been in place for some time, there are aspects that can be inspected. For example, it is checked whether weather influences (including water or wind damage), seasonal influences (including leaves that stick to panels) and pollution (including bird droppings) have not caused permanent and/or dangerous damage.
In short, a solar panel inspection examines the reliability and safety of your installation. The following aspects are discussed during an inspection:
• Material selection: is the material used of sufficient quality; it is CE approved
• Safety and reliability of the installation and cables
• Optimal location on the roof and checking the roof load calculations (can your roof structure support the installation)
• Installation measurements; there are no errors in the installation (a leak for example)
The inspection takes place on the basis of EN 1010 chapter 712 and EN-IEC 62446.
For whom and why solar panel inspection?
We offer a solar panel inspection for both business and private customers. The content of the inspection is the same. The same aspects are measured regardless of the size of the installation.
Private
As a private individual, inspecting your solar panel installation is not mandatory. However, due to the negative publicity, we at TÜV NORD Bulgaria are increasingly noticing the need to inspect solar panels. This way, after an inspection with a positive outcome, you can rest assured of the safety and reliability of your installation. How much does a solar panel inspection cost for private individuals? We charge a fixed price.
Commercial
Of course, the risk of fire is also a reason for many companies to inspect. However, companies often want the insurer to submit a thorough inspection report on your solar panels to your insurer. Because our inspectors have all also received thermographic training, you can expect a high-quality report.
